August Abundance

This harvest day was awesome, thanks to the "Dream Team" working in the field and the barn. Thanks to Roots to Harvest for coming out to give us a hand this season, they attacked the weeds each time they came out, and what a difference a group of dedicated weeders can make on a field!

This week we have a few new arrivals!!!

It also marks the high tide of Broccoli. We harvested a loader full!

YAY ~ carrots!!! They look amazing in the photo ... really can't wait to taste them. Excited to try those golden beets, too! I baked the beets we received from you last time and then put them in a vinaigrette - so delicious. See you tonight!
Kudos to your volunteers, too ~ nice team work! : )

Really nice vegetables, you make me want to be a CSA member...and I grow my own. Just look at all that cauliflower.

The carrots are fantastic, their appearance is always my favorite time of the CSA year.

I made a salad with mesclun, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots just with some lemon juice and olive oil on it. 'twas bliss.

Matt,

Am so jealous of those root crops- mine have been a total bust this year. The CSA has not complained but I feel like I could have done better. The new planting is coming up fine and I hope they look as gorgeous as yours.
